Best Practices Result in Best Service - and a question!!??!!

Went to a favorite restaurant with my wife last night, Coronado Cafe. A nice little fine dinning establishment in a nice old house. They have tried to return the house to the original condition with some nice embellishments. The cuisine is certainly high end and a good deal. They offered a special appetizer which we had to try. Portobello fries! Very nicely done with a thin breading and seasoning served with a dipping sauce. We asked for two, the Ranch cause my wife doesn't like spicy food and the other choice was a green chili sauce. The Green chili sauce was creamy and very mild, I loved it and the Portobello's were great with the mild spiciness.
Here is the Question? - After the meal my wife was very full and didn't finish her pork, so of course, we asked for a to-go box. They brought a very nice box that they had labeled as 'Pork" with the date 6/2. I thought that was a very nice touch. I consider this over the top service and certainly a 'Best Practice'.
Now the real question: Have you had any experiences in restaurants that you consider a 'Best Practice' and would like to see at many if not all places you dine?

Another example, that is a little over the top, and is more gimmicky that 'Best Practice' is when the bill is presented a wide selection of fine pens is also presented to sign the bill. It's very nice but I just don't consider it a 'Best Practice'. So what have you seen?
